When we think of Entire world War I actually, images of the soft, muddy Traditional western Front are usually usually what come to mind. Scenes of anxious young males standing up in knee-deep dirt, awaiting the contact to move 'over the top', dealing with machine guns, barbed wire, mortars, bayonets, hánd-to-hand fights, and more. We furthermore think of the frustratións of all involved: the apparently simple objective, the incomprehensive trouble of simply moving forward, and the shocking amounts of guys slain. The stalemate on the West Front survived for four years, driving the development of fresh technologies, hemorrhaging the sources of the belligerent nations, and wrecking the surrounding countryside. I've collected photographs of the Great Battle from dozens of series, some digitized for the initial time, to test to inform the story of the issue, those caught up in it, and how much it impacted the globe.
